Activities (new!!)
Our president, Ken Stark, has put together two self-guided activities for those eager to explore Swansea and learn more about its history and geography. Please click on the two links below to download the files—one contains details on where one can find the “many steps” of our hilly neighbourhood and the other a guide to a variety of historical landmarks.

Calendars can be purchased over-the-counter at the office of the Swansea Town Hall, or at any SHS events. We can also receive orders by telephone (647-859-3901), via email, or regular mail (95 Lavinia Ave., Box 102, Toronto, Ontario M6S 3H9). Vacancies
We are looking to fill some vacancies on our Board including a Programme Coordinator and a Walking Tours Coordinator among others. Please visit our Volunteer page to see the list of positions and their job descriptions. In addition to filling the jobs that require ongoing responsibilities, we are always happy to welcome people to the board as “Members at Large” who may be asked to participate in specific initiatives from time to time. We can always benefit from more help and fresh ideas!
Hybrid Meetings
For some years now we have been conducting our monthly public meetings in a hybrid format. Participants can attend in-person at the Swansea Town Hall or by using Zoom from a computer. For those who prefer to join us on-line, a Zoom link will be provided closer to the meeting date.
Membership
If you are not already a member of the Swansea Historical Society, please join us to help offset the costs of ongoing operations and to be added to our mailing list. Annual memberships can be purchased or renewed for $15 per person and $20 per family.
Volunteer!
The Swansea Historical Society is a registered charity that is run by a small group of volunteers. Please give some thought to contributing your time and talents to our ongoing activities. Let us know of any ideas you might have or if someone you know would like to help out. Previous experience is not required, and you don’t have be an expert in local history in order to participate.

Electronic Payments
Swansea Historical Society accepts payments electronically. An e-transfer can be sent to swanseahistoricalsociety@gmail.com resulting in a direct deposit to the SHS bank account. The payment method can be used to pay membership fees, purchase publications, make donations, etc. We invite you to give it a try. If you are sending money by e-transfer, please indicate in the “message” area the purpose of your payment.
